The Role

The Server is responsible for delivering attentive, efficient, and personalized food and beverage service, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. This role manages station operations, order taking, and billing with accuracy and professionalism, reflecting Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to legendary service.

 

Key Responsibilities

Guest Dining Experience

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus, offering recommendations and guidance
  • Take orders accurately and assist guests with menu selections
  • Serve food and beverages according to guest needs and service standards
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns
  • Bid farewell to guests, encouraging repeat visits

Station Management & Service Flow

  • Maintain mise en place and ensure station is stocked, tidy, and service-ready
  • Ensure tables are cleared and reset in accordance with reservation plans
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service
  • Attend pre-service briefings for daily updates

Billing & Transactions

  • Prepare and present bills accurately and promptly
  • Ensure efficient handling of all guest transactions
  • Support overall billing accuracy and service efficiency

Team Support & Coordination

  • Assist bartenders, hostesses, and colleagues with operational needs
  • Support beverage service and basic drink preparation when required
  • Communicate any guest feedback or service issues promptly

Service Excellence & Brand Standards

  • Uphold the company’s philosophy and Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences
  • Maintain impeccable grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards
  • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a guest-focused mindset

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Participate in training, SOP briefings, and service simulations
  • Assist in setting up service stations and restaurant areas
  • Support pre-opening operations as required

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Hospitality or related field
  • Previous experience in F&B service is an advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service
  • Guest-focused with a positive and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and coordination skills
  • Professional grooming and presentation
