Server 

Mandarin Oriental Canouan is looking for a Server to join our Food & Beverage Team.

About the job 

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Canouan / within the  Food & Beverage Department in Canouan, The Server is responsible for providing gracious, attentive, and personalized service to guests in the restaurant, bar, lounge, or in-room dining area. This role ensures a refined dining experience through product knowledge, menu guidance, precise order taking, and elegant service delivery in accordance with luxury hospitality standards. The Server reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. 

As Server, you will be responsible for the following duties:  

Guest Service & Experience 

  • Greet guests warmly and escort to table when necessary. 

  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and make thoughtful recommendations. 

  • Take orders accurately and enter into POS system. 

  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with service standards and timing. 

  • Conduct quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction. 

  • Maintain awareness of guest preferences and personalize service when possible. 

  • Handle guest concerns with calm, polite, and solution-focused professionalism. 

  • Create memorable dining experiences through thoughtful detail and service style. 

Service Preparation 

  • Ensure dining area, tables, linens, cutlery, and glasses are set to standard. 

  • Assist in setting up stations, polishing glassware & silverware. 

  • Prepare and maintain service stations, ensuring stock levels are adequate. 

  • Assist in breakdown and reset of dining areas after meal periods. 

Food & Beverage Knowledge 

  • Maintain a strong understanding of menu items, ingredients, dietary restrictions, and allergens. 

  • Be knowledgeable about wine, spirits, cocktails, and pairings. 

  • Speak confidently on specials, tasting notes, and preparation styles. 

Operational & Administrative 

  • Accurately process guest payments following cashiering procedures. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas. 

  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and service team. 

  • Follow all safety and hygiene regulations. 

  • Participate in team briefings, trainings, and service rehearsals. 

As Server we expect from you: 

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, or luxury service experience is a plus. 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills. 

  • Ability to remain calm, attentive, and professional in a fast-paced luxury environment. 

  • Excellent service etiquette and professional appearance at all times. 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
