Located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.

Scope of Position:

The Head Bartender oversees the outlet's bar operations and other bartenders' work to ensure that they provide positive customer experience. He/She ensures the smooth running of the bar. He/She should also be skilled in serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant and bar patrons.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Has a good understanding of the outlet's concept and food and beverage offerings and is able to verbally explain those to the guests.
  • Has knowledge of mixing and matching ingredients to offer an outstanding selection of creative cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers and wines and is able to garnish all drinks as per the given standards and explain their characteristics.
  • Supports the outlet manager when required to train colleagues, in accordance with the applicable standards and policies, and regularly updates the Standard Drink Appearance file.
  • Is able to personally interact and recommend suitable drinks for guest.
  • Handles effectively any kind of customer complaints being verbal or written and reports to managers without fail.
  • Monitors daily the bar counter set up and ensures that mise en place and any other required ingredients and equipment are prepared, in order to work as efficient as possible.
  • Ensures that all bottles and ingredients are set up as per the bar’s standard, assures they are in easy reach and facilitates effective service.
  • Assures that all beverages, such as wines or juices, are fresh and in good order to be served.
  • Creates new mixed drinks and cocktails for promotional activity and new menus.
  • Is able to train Bartenders and Bar Supervisors to offer and serve cigars, as per standards.
  • Assures correct amounts are stocked up to avoid running out of stock during service periods.
  • Carries out monthly inventories.
  • Makes sure the temperature of the bar fridges is checked as the the First in, First Out standards.
  • Assures that correct date labelling is always in place for all related products.
  • Assures that the bar areas are cleaned after each shift and when required.
  • Is able to carry out cashiering and daily cash and credit collections.
  • Carries out any other reasonable tasks, as assigned by the outlet manager, including assisting other outlets.
  • Communicates well with colleagues and superiors, in order to avoid misunderstandings and other shortfalls caused by lack of communication.
  • Is committed to being a team player; proactively cooperating and supporting colleagues in operational tasks.
  • Listens to every guest and observes their body language carefully, in order to be able to understand their needs and expectations. Consistently delights and satisfies every guest.
  • Has a natural, warm smile and a friendly and passionate approach towards guests.
  • Creates WOW moments to surprise and delight guests in the Restaurants through gestures and other actions.
  • Reports guest's preference to superiors and acts upon them whenever known.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • EU Passport or valid Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
  • High School qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience as Head Bartender in a high-end bar with highest levels of service is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as Head Bartender in a luxury hotel/resort
  • Local and international food and beverage awareness.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Fluency in Greek will be considered as a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
