Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok/ within the Culinary Department in Bangkok, The Food Checker (Chinese Cuisine) is responsible for the preparation, service, hygiene and quality of food, as well as the presentation, including support for Banquet operations as required by business needs. The Food Checker (Chinese Cuisine) reports to the Executive Chinese Chef/ Chinese Sous Chef.
As Food Checker (Chinese Cuisine), you will be responsible for the following duties:
The station assigned by Executive Chinese Chef/ Chinese Sous Chef.
Support Chinese Sous Chef to prepare food in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
Prevent spoilage and overproduction through daily checks.
Maintains communication between the supervisor and subordinates.
Responsible for cleanliness and keeping of set hygiene standards in the assigned area.
Ensures mise-en-place is always done according to the Standard Operating Procedures.

Ability to communicate in Chinese and Thai (English an advantage)
Strong team player; cooperative and supportive
Friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate personality
Well-rounded culinary skills
Minimum of completed Secondary School education
Apprenticeship or proven experience in a Chinese kitchen
