About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan within the Security Department, the Security Manager is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of a safe environment around the hotel, dealing with emergencies and administering supervision for all colleagues within the security department (patrol and fire control centre) to ensure the smooth running of the operation to serve all guests with an enjoyable and comfortable stay as possible. Moreover, the Director of Security is responsible for reviewing the staff work plan and training plan and for spot-checking the training section. Performance duties will accord the procedure. The Director of Security reports to the Hotel Manager.

As Security Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Supports supervisors and colleagues in the daily operation of the department
• Ensures the General Manager and EXCOM are apprised of all safety and security-related matters in a timely manner
• Provides security awareness and occupational safety induction training to all newly hired colleagues
• Produces various reports as required by the MOHG’s Fire, Life, Health, Safety and Security guidelines
• Responsible for the protection of hotel guests, colleagues, assets (tangible and intangible) and other resources by developing and maintaining an organisation that is responsive to the current, continuing and immediately foreseeable security, safety and health/hygiene requirements of the Hotel
• Stays attuned to statutory and corporate requirements on fire, life, health, safety, and security (FLHSS), ensuring appropriate activities are in place within the hotel
• Maintains and develops close working relationships with external contacts such as PSB and local government
• Manages all security investigations

As Security Manager, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Security Management in a luxury hotel
• Familiar with hotel safety regulations, fire control, emergency response and local public policies
• High interpersonal skills
• Relevant security management or fire safety certifications are preferred
