People & Culture (HR) Intern

About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the People & Culture Intern is responsible for key administrative and coordination tasks across trainee recruitment, onboarding, training refreshers, and internal events. This includes assisting with documentation, scheduling, logistics, and communication to ensure smooth and well-organized processes. The People & Culture Intern reports to the Learning & Development Executive and People & Culture Manager with an ultimate reporting line to the Director of People & Culture for matters related to training, trainee recruitment, and activities.

As People & Culture Intern, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training arrangements, including invitations, attendance sheets, and room setup.
  • Support the execution of MOHG learning programs by following up on standards and checklists.

2. Internship Recruitment

  • Support internship lifecycle including pre-screening, interview scheduling, document collection, MCU, onboarding, and assist in clearance.
  • Record and maintain trainee databases and school visit documents.
  • Prepare a welcome kit for new hire paperwork to ensure smooth onboarding.

3. Colleague Communication

  • Create daily Colleague Restaurant (MO Makan) menus.
  • Develop engaging and high-quality visual materials to promote trainee events or share updates.
  • Prepare logistics and decorations for internal events.

4. Additional Responsibilities

  • Support People & Culture functions by performing additional tasks as required, according to departmental needs. 

 

As People & Culture Intern, we expect from you:

Educational Background

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Hospitality, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience

  • No prior work experience required.
  • Previous internship or involvement in campus organizations/events is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, exchange ideas, and work towards shared solutions.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive candidate information.

Technical Proficiency

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms is an advantage.
