The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

 

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Culinary Department in Zurich, the Night Chef is responsible preparing dishes during nighttime hours. The Night Chef reports to the Executive Chef.

 

As Night Chef, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ensuring the smooth running of night operations in the kitchen
  • Preparing all meals for guests during the night
  • Mis en Place for the daily business
  • Preparing the daily breakfast buffet
  • Ensuring the flawless preparation, quality and appealing presentation of our food in line with our high quality standards
  • Checking the storerooms and stock levels
  • Responsible for the daily control of hygiene regulations and cleanliness according to HACCP guidelines

 

As Night Chef, we expect from you:

  • Completed training as a chef. 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar role - preferably in the upscale hotel/catering industry
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
  • Eye for detail and creativity - to bring your culinary signature to the table
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills - you can manage your own station
  • High level of commitment as well as a structured, results-oriented and independent way of working
  • High quality awareness
  • Good knowledge of English
