About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Culinary Department in Zurich, the Commis de Cuisine is responsible for state-of-the-art culinary experiences. The Commis de Cuisine reports to the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef.

 

As Commis de Cuisine, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes
  • Assisting with the preparation and follow-up of events
  • Supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflows during a shift
  • Compliance with all guidelines and proper storage of all food 
  • Compliance with and daily monitoring of hygiene regulations and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP guidelines

 

As Commis de Cuisine, we expect from you:

  • Completed apprenticeship as a chef  
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position includes weekend and public holiday shifts 
  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a team, reliability and enthusiasm for cooking 
  • High level of commitment and quality awareness  
  • Very good knowledge of English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
