About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Hostess French Brasserie Lyon is responsible for the overall day to day F&B operation. A long-term outlook will be determined. The incumbent will help create a pleasant dining environment and experience for guests. The Hostess French Brasserie Lyon reports to the Outlet Manager.

As Hostess French Brasserie Lyon, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • To ensure that the uniform provided is kept clean, presentable and in good condition, ensuring that personal appearance and hygiene standards are an example for the team and demonstrate a professional image for our guests
  • To greet, escort and seat the guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • To maintain cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant entrance and its surrounding
  • To maintain cleanliness, presentation, and stock of the outlet menus
  • To maintain sufficient stock of stationeries
  • To take every reservation in a friendly and professional manner
  • To follow up any special requests related to reservation
  • To assist the Outlet Manager in controlling the flow of the guests
  • To ensure that guests are seated according to their requirements
  • To liaise with the managers regarding any relevant guest requirements
  • To make sure enough stock of Newspapers and Magazines
  • To wish all guests “Farewell” upon conclusion
  • Log in any information about special requirements, preferences from the guests and use it to give the special touch to the service
  • To collect and updating Guests’ database
  • To update Outlet Manager about daily and upcoming reservation, especially with special event. i.e. Banquet event
  • To maintain a clear record about past reservations
  • Responsible for cash float and cashiering
  • To fully inform and aware about all information connecting to Food and Beverage outlets and Mandarin Oriental Jakarta/Group generally
  • To maintain all Hotel’s assets

As Hostess French Brasserie Lyon, we expect from you:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
  • Be a self-motivator and motivator of others
  • Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the menus
  • Be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.
  • Have the ability to handle multiple tasks using time and task management skills.
  • Have a minimum of 1-year experience in similar position, preferably in luxury environment
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills
  • Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest
  • Have the ability to handle guest requests in a detailed manner
  • Have excellent attention to details and service knowledge
