About the Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental London Corporate Office, within the Finance Department, the Accountant acts as the primary contact for all day‑to‑day MOUK transactional and accounting matters. This role also assists with wider financial tasks and corporate reporting managed by the London Finance Team.
The Accountant reports to the Corporate Finance Manager, UK, with responsibilities covering the EMEA region.
As Accountant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Manage supplier invoices and ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.
Support month-end closing activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
Assist with bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Assist in compliance tasks and ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards.
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts
Perform additional finance-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support departmental needs and business priorities.
Financial and Non-Financial Measures:
Responsible for accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions to ensure integrity of financial statements
Adherence to tight reporting deadlines and completion of reconciliations within agreed timelines
Maintain high standards of data integrity with minimal errors and swift action and resolutions
Communication Requirements:
Internal
· Act as primary contact for Sales and Operational colleagues within MOUK for supplier invoice and payment transactions
· Regular liaison with Hong Kong office accounting finance team and the Treasury team
· Positive and professional communication with the existing finance and office colleagues
External
· Communicating with card service providers and the Banks if required
· Liaising with 3rd party vendors, accounting and tax firms, if necessary
Minimum Job Requirements:
· Education – Bachelors, Diploma or similar Certification in Finance
· Experience – 3 years+ in finance or accounting role
· Certifications / licenses – AAT or Part qualified
· Special skills – Intermediate Excel skills with strong reconciliation experience
