We are currently looking for a talented and highly driven Sous Chef de Cuisine with passion of creating meMOrable dining experiences for guests.

Be part of the pre-opening team of our new and exciting restaurant launch. Following a phase of significant transformation, the hotel will unveil Europe's first opening of a celebrated hospitality brand.

Main Responsibilities: 

Reporting directly to the Chef de Cuisine, the Sous-Chef s responsible for the overall daily kitchen operation, maintenance of quality standards, and training and performance management of all colleagues. 

  • It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will take a leading role in the Kitchen, supporting the Chef de Cuisine, leading and inspiring the team to create a 5 Star environment.   
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating recipes and plating guides for menu items; controlling food costs; controlling mise en place; training colleagues; administrative work; coaching and counseling; scheduling; and enforcing all HACCP and FLHSSE safety rules and regulations.
  • Enforce and monitor that all operational standards, as per established policies, SOPs, hygiene, safety, and quality measures are always in place
  • Assist in developing and implementing cost control measures to optimize profitability without compromising quality
  • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics to identify improvement areas and implement enhancement strategies.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement among the restaurant colleagues.
  • Train, evaluate, and schedule all colleagues per the applicable standards, and policies and as per the overall business requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a luxury hotel environment. European experience is a must
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Proven experience in launching a significant restaurant, that is highly successful, from pre-opening onwards would be an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate in proper English & French both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent overall communication skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • Training and coaching skills
  • The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for culinary, lots of flair and creativity
  • You will have exceptional inter-personal, management and organizational skills
  • Must be of smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards
