About the job

Based at the San Clemente Palace within the Security Department in Venice, the Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations within the property, ensuring the safety of guests, colleagues, assets, and facilities. This role involves managing security staff, developing and implementing security policies, and coordinating with local authorities. The Security Manager reports to the Hotel Manager.

 

As Security Manager, you will responsible for the following duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the property’s needs.
  • Manage and supervise the security team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and control access points to ensure the safety of guests, colleagues, and property assets.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and lead security during incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, or security breaches.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services as required.
  • Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry best practices regarding security and safety.
  • Promote a security-aware culture throughout the property via training, communication, and awareness campaigns.
  • Manage security-related budgets, procurement of equipment, and maintenance of security infrastructure.

As Security Manager we expect from you: 

  • Extensive experience in security management, preferably in luxury hospitality or high-profile properties.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse security team.
  • In-depth knowledge of security systems, surveillance technology, and emergency response protocols.
  • Excellent risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with guests, colleagues, and external authorities.
  • Thorough understanding of local laws, regulations, and compliance standards related to security and safety.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in security management, emergency response, or law enforcement are preferred.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
