About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Security department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Security Manager will take full responsibility for managing all security supervisors and officers to enforce security policies and procedures in accordance with Mandarin Oriental corporate guidelines and ensure compliance to all local, state and federal regulations.

The Security Manager reports to the Director of Security and oversees the Security Supervisor and Security Officers.

As Security Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to all Security Officers and Security Supervisor, including the continual training and development of Security colleagues and the onboarding of new hires
  • Create a safe and secure environment for our guests, residents, and colleagues
  • Assist in development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the Security department
  • Oversee the security needs of high profile and VIP guests
  • Review and follow up on all incident, loss, and accident reports
  • Perform daily administration of hotel’s key control program
  • Be responsible for Fire, Life, Health, and Safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in training of all colleagues in emergency procedure preparedness
  • Manage scheduling and payroll for the Security department, monitor overtime and labor expenses
  • Perform any other duties as required by management

As Security Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role; experience in luxury hospitality is strongly preferred
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of the shift
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include overnight shifts

Desirable:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
  • Multi-lingual

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $78,000 annually.
