About the job
Under the general guidance and supervision of Director of Revenue Strategy, and within the limits of established corporate office and hotel policies and procedures create revenue management strategies and drive strong market share for the region, the Revenue Manager is responsible for the below duties. The Revenue Manager reports to the Director of Revenue Strategy.
As Revenue Analyst, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Annual Department Budget:
- Support the Director of Revenue Strategy, takes an active role in the development of the annual revenue budget and marketing plan.
Other Financial Parameters for the Position:
- Responsible for the departmental revenue and expense budget.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy by effectively controlling rates and availability.
- Update the various distribution channels for proper rate and room availability as directed by the Director of Revenue Strategy
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of rate codes in the various systems.
- Ensure the content and pictures are UpToDate on brand.com and all online channels.
- Ensure group block names and preferences are correctly updated in PMS system.
- Ensure group inventory blocked in the PMS is accurate, changes and wash are reflected simultaneously.
- Ensure proper staffing at all times
- Ensure that Legendary Quality Standards, policies and procedures of MOHG are properly understood and followed through
- Assist with annual departmental operating budgets as well as capital expenditure and manpower budgets
- Control and analyze departmental costs to ensure performance is within budget
- Perform all aspects of colleague and training functions, including hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, coaching, and training etc.
- Ensure and maintain a very high standard of personal hygiene, behavior, and grooming standards of staff
- Handle all guest complaints and comments relating to the department tactfully
- Ensure that the Legendary Service Training manual is continuously updated, maintained, and used effectively
- Cooperate and coordinate teamwork with other departments
- Ensure that the hotel and MOHG brand image is mathematically integrated into revenue management decisions (i.e.: Lost-it rates cannot dilute brand image)
- Provide input into the different booking lead times of market segments to facilitate future control
- Monitor and control the hotel's inventory on a daily basis by setting restrictions on the number of rooms that can be sold in each market segment.
- Update pick up reports daily.
- Prepare weekly pace reports.
- Actively involved in the preparation of the Commercial Strategy & Execution Meeting
- Prepares month-end reports as Directed by Director of Revenue Strategy.
- Assist the Director of Revenue into maximizing the F&B, Banquet & Catering revenue.
- Predict future demand and proactively set controls for managing demand and maximizing revenues in all revenue generating departments.
- Provide input in selection process of other booking avenues and contracts to ensure required control mechanisms are available
- Proactively study future bookings from representation and impose appropriate controls to maximize revenues, and ensure that once configured, reservations maintain all systems with accurate representation of hotels
- Ensure customer retention is appropriately included in rate qualifiers
- Identify future periods where packages might assist in stimulating demand or should be restricted, or where promotions are warranted
- Provide input into market perception based on shifting trends on future demand
- Participate in advertising campaign by ensuring that all information is in the reservations systems, agree possible impact on demand with marketing before campaign is finalized, and ensure room inventory controls are appropriate prior to launch
- Overall responsible for accurate room-night and revenue forecasting, with input from Sales for Group forecasts
- Look out for opportunities of call conversion to boost direct bookings
- Seek upselling and cross-selling opportunities
- Manage offline channels for inventory availability, open or close channels appropriately
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Revenue
- Communication & Relationship
- Ensure that communication with other departments, notably Credit, Sales, Concierge, Engineering, Guest Relations and Front Desk is maintained with information which pertains to them.
- Establishes and maintain effective employee relations
Information Security
- Identify and regularly review the classification levels of all your information with your department.
- Ensure that the information and information security equipment assets under your control are secured as effectively as practically possible to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information assets.
- Authorize user access to information under your control and remove access when it is no longer required.
- Communicate access control requirements to Information Security management and the information users.
- Monitor Information Policy compliance within your scope of authority.
- Detect and report Information Security incidents to the Information Security Officer and respond to any incidents that are reported.
- Safeguard the security of the company's information and computing assets and comply with the implemented Information Security Policy and all practices and supporting procedures designed in accordance with the policy.
- Ensure accountability for your actions and recognize that any unauthorized deviation from the information security policy may result in disciplinary action including termination of employment and prosecution under the applicable Japanese law.

- Completing and submitting accurate reports required.
- Manage all pricing systems in English and Japanese.
- Multi day pickup and pricing changes for high RevPAR periods.
- Produce one off reports for trend analysis in areas of management concern when requested.
- Analyze trends to support the daily and long-term goals for occupancy and average rates, Restaurant, Banqueting and Catering occupancy and revenue.
- Responsible for all rate loading and producing SOPs.
- Assist the Reservations Manager and Reservations Assistant Manager in the overall operations of the department
- Identify packaging opportunities in periods of high or low demand and work with communications team to bring to market.
- Assist Director of Revenue Strategy to prepare reports for Revenue Meetings. Present on behalf of DORS when not available.
- Production of status report, highlighting the busy and slow season, weekly, monthly, or yearly and adjusting rates accordingly.
- Maintaining a pricing strategy to meet hotel revenue management goals.
As Revenue Manager, we expect from you:
- Minimum 3 years experience is revenue departments in luxury hotel.
- Reservations or sales experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English, Japanese speaking is a plus
- PC skill (Microsoft Office), open mind for new systems
- Eyes for details and accuracy
