Position Objective:

The Finance Operations Manager will be dedicated to one of those strategic projects and will have the opportunity to rotate through other projects once complete. The objective of this role is to ensure the successful delivery of strategic project(s).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Compliance with Expense, Travel and Entertainment P&P’s

• Compliance with Purchasing Guidelines

• Ensure best practices are documented and shared between hotels as appropriate

• Assist in developing and monitoring Learning and Development opportunities for local finance teams.

• Assist in monitoring budgeting requirements, Balance Sheet reconciliation process, Risk Management protocols.

• Liaise with Systems Finance to ensure appropriate configurations, system access rights and other related matters are documented, standardized and maintained.

• Monitor financial performance of hotels and assist with Action plans and follow up accordingly

• Ensure MOHG complies with its obligations to provide pre-opening and operating budgets, manager’s insurance obligations and other key obligations under the management agreements

• Provide planning and support to newly built or acquired hotels, including budget preparation, on-site assistance with the implementation of systems and procedures

• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and templates for opening hotels and review CSAQ and audit requirement for all Hotels.

• Introduce newly joined DOFs to MOHG P&P, budgeting requirements, insurance procedures, Risk Management protocols

• Assist with any acquisition, divestment or de-branding activities as required

• Assist in the monthly performance reviews of all Hotels

Actively participate in regional and global projects as determined from time to time but which may include:

• COA Standardization.

• Updating and maintaining Expense Dictionary.

• Development of new KPI’s.

• Updating and maintaining Policy and Procedure Library

• Develop and maintain Opening Toolkit / Operations Finance Reference Manual

• Design Training plans to raise internal colleagues one level (ADOF – DOF, Staff Acct. – ADOF, etc.)

• Develop brief internal financial

Financial and Non-Financial Measures:

  • Budgetary or financial control of the position – Not applicable
  • Other quantitative / qualitative measures – feedback from project stakeholders, and performance measures defined in the goal plan with the direct report of this role

Internal and external communications are required for this role, these are the communications requirements:

  • Excellent track record in change management and communications
  • Experience with coordinating and facilitating workshops
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work with stakeholders across regions, levels and departments
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years work experience in finance ideally ADOF role
  • 6+ years project management experience, including issue resolution
  • Excellent track record in change management and communications
  • Prior experience of system and/ or operating model implementation
  • Experience with coordinating and facilitating workshops
  • Hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work with stakeholders across regions, levels and departments
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Self-starter, organised and goal-orientated
  • Adaptable to change in plans and able to flex style dependent on stakeholder
  • Seeks continuous improvement opportunities
  • Actively listens and builds on others’ ideas
  • Culturally sensitive
  • High awareness of ultimate customer service
  • Hands-on, whilst being able to see the bigger picture
  • Proficient in English; Cantonese and Mandarin skill is a plus
