The Materials Officer will report to the Materials Manager and forms part of the Materials Management team who ensures all materials’ procurement and purchasing processes follows the best practices in relations to purchasing controls, quality, cost and inventory management.
The Role of the Materials Officer - Purchasing (Projects 1 yr contract)
• Responsible for the supervision and day to day operation of the Purchasing operation of the Materials Management Department.
• Responsible for the sourcing and obtaining of specified products required by the various departments of the hotel.
• To actively and continuously source the most appropriate products and to negotiate the best possible price.
• Maintain continuity of supply.
• Maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with internal and external guests.
• Deputizes for the DOMM/ Materials Manager during their absence
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
Minimum SPM / LCCI or equivalent.
Diploma in Accounting or Hotel Management or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year working experience in a similar capacity in the hospitality industry
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin or other chinese dialects are an advantage.
Knowledge in Checks EAM Purchasing system is preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP and HALAL practises and requirements is an advantage.
Sourcing on F&B market list will be an added advantage.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with vendors.
Analytical and detail-oriented.
Detailed, efficient, organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must have employment rights in Malaysia.
