About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, within the Marketing Department in Istanbul, the Marketing and Communications Executive is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing & Communications and Marketing & Communications Manager in all matters relating to E-commerce, advertising, collateral, direct mail, promotions and other marketing communications as well as on-property press handling as requested.

 

As "Marketing and Communications Executive", you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Experience in working with and directing advertising agencies
  • Handle all advertising enquiries
  • Monitor the approved budget for local advertising
  • Assist with writing and proofreading all Hotel, Spa and F&B written collaterals
  • Collate all necessary materials for printing
  • Liaise with production houses or graphic designer on all production schedules
  • Ensure all collaterals are updated and current
  • Liaise with MOHG central mail-house (ICLP) on inventory control
  • Ensure adherence to MOHG Corporate Identity guidelines for all promotional material and advertising
  • Work with Director of Marketing & Communications to cross-check all collateral work
  • Assist DOMC and Marketing & Communications Manager with the production of materials for Direct Mail activities
  • To liaise with the design company to produce creative and quality mail pieces, working with the mailing house to ensure that the creative piece is appropriate to the audience and adheres to MOHG CID
  • To ensure that all direct mail campaigns are quantifiable and produce assessments as to the success of each activity undertaken
  • Ensure collaterals and Direct Marketing Materials (such as point of sales cards etc) are created and produced to drive revenue to F&B outlets and Spa
  • Research ideas for new content for the property web page (guest services, news, offers, etc.)
  • Following the e-mail blasts for Hotel, F&B and Spa, analyse data for assessment of successfulness of promotion and ROI
  • Liaise with F&B, Spa, and other hotel departments to generate new content for social media channels.
  • Develop and manage input of all content on third party internet sites
  • Constantly analyse competitor hotel websites and marketing tools and keep DOMC and Marketing & Communications Manager updated
  • Conduct benchmark research on other targeted hotels’ online tools and activities (research and analyse industry best practices and initiatives)
  • Research travel-related sites to identify opportunities to enhance online presence
  • Ensure brand website content is accurate in written and photos are up to date
  • Prepare monthly traffic reports of brand website, visitors’ orientation within the page and create meaningful data to comment by hotel management.
  • Research, review and improve the hotel’s positioning on referrer websites.
  • Cross-check all written on-line and off-line promotional and collateral materials with Director of Marketing & Communications.
  • Research new distribution channels for effectively reaching the media.
  • Work with Group E-Commerce and DOMC team to maximise search engine optimization (SEO) opportunities.
  • Attend relevant E-commerce/E-Marketing related webinars, workshops, etc. to keep abreast of the latest tools and technologies
  • Maintain photo library
  • Coordinate in-house photography for F&B promotions
  • Assist DOMC and DOSM with hotel photography shootArrange for any new photography to be filed appropriately internally, with one full set sent to MOHG communications

 

As "Marketing and Communications Executive", we expect from you:

  • Host and oversee media visits from overseas in conjunction with DOMC
  • Keep press kit and photographic library updated
  • Be familiar with the Group PR Manual.
  • Prepare guest information letters.
  • Record all press enquiries on a daily basis
  • Produce monthly Public Relations reports in conjunction with DOMC
  • Liaise with and provide up-to-date hotel information to in-house guests, the local community and MOHG on request in conjunction with DOMC
  • Update and maintain the master press list in conjunction with DOMC
  • Handle invitations for local press for press receptions and special events Responsible for the monitoring of the advertising and promotional budgets and accountable for the expenditure within the monthly budget
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department heads
