About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Mandarin Garden Department in Milan, the Floor Manager is responsible for assisting the Restaurant team to provide impeccable service at all times to guests .The Floor Manager reports to the Director of Mandarin Garden.

As Floor Manager, you will responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Mandarin Garden to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to service standards.
  • Work closely with the Director of Mandarin Garden, reporting to them, to implement business strategies and achieve predetermined objectives, actively contributing to the overall success of the establishment.
  • Continuously monitor key performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective solutions to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Have good planning skills, recruitment and interviewing skills for new colleagues
  • Be responsible for the training and development of colleagues
  • Ensure that reservations are managed well within the outlet
  • Observe the competition, current market and international trends, prices with the market and other new ideas and forward them to the Outlet Manager
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to all outlet colleagues at any time
  • Supervise daily service operations to ensure standards and policies are followed
  • Check daily maintenance, cleanliness of the areas and grooming of staff
  • Provide excellent service at all time to all of our guests
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage to be able to service and up sell the product
  • Handle complaints and take immediate action for rectification 

 

As Floor Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Proven experience in operational management roles in bar and restaurant settings.
  • Excellent leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in synergy with the executive team and other hotel departments.
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred
  • International work experience
  • Excellent knowledge of fine food and wine
  • Fluent in Italian & English
  • Skilled at handling complaints and comments tactfull
