About the job
Based within the Legal Department in London, the Legal Secretary is responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial, administrative and legal support to the Legal Department, with a particular focus on EMEA-based colleagues. The role supports legal documentation, contract execution, records management and day-to-day departmental operations.


This position is a legal administration and support role and is not designed as a legal training programme or pathway to qualification as a solicitor or lawyer.
The Legal Secretary reports to the Group Counsel.


As Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Legal Department, including travel arrangements, expenses and invoice processing.
  • Assist with the preparation, formatting, execution and filing of legal documents, contracts, resolutions and correspondence.
  • Coordinate document execution processes through DocuSign and maintain accurate execution records and completion logs.
  • Maintain organised legal records, documentation and filing systems, ensuring information is stored accurately and readily accessible.
  • Manage legal records and documentation across internal systems including SharePoint, Diligent and DocuSign.
  • Monitor shared legal inboxes and support general departmental administration and information requests.
  • Support the Legal Department with document tracking, reporting and administrative projects as required.


As Legal Secretary, we expect from you:

  • Previous experience in a legal secretarial or legal administrative support role.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with legal document execution processes, records management and administration.
  • Experience supporting an in-house legal team and working with document management systems, DocuSign and Diligent is advantageous.
  • An interest in legal administration and operational support within an in-house corporate environment.
