About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona within the Housekeeping Department, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and luxury service. The Housekeeping Supervisor reports directly to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper / Executive Housekeeper.

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Room Attendants and Housekeeping Attendants.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, corridors, public areas, and service areas to ensure compliance with Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Monitor room status and coordinate closely with the Front Office department to ensure timely room availability.
• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to housekeeping colleagues to maintain service excellence and operational efficiency.
• Ensure all housekeeping procedures, health & safety standards, and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.
• Handle guest requests and concerns promptly, professionally, and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management, linen control, and housekeeping supplies.
• Support the Executive Housekeeper in achieving departmental objectives, productivity targets, and quality standards.

As Housekeeping Supervisor, we expect from you:

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of housekeeping operations and luxury hotel standards.
• Highly responsible, organized, and reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a multicultural team.
• Ability to focus on guest needs while remaining calm, courteous, and professional.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory housekeeping role within a luxury hotel environment.
• Good command of English; Spanish is highly desirable. Additional languages are an asset.
• Knowledge of Opera PMS and housekeeping management systems is preferred.
