About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Sales Department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue for both guest rooms, catering and function space in their assigned market segment. The Group Sales Manager reports to the Director of Commerce.

As Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manage all accounts from assigned markets.
  • Secure new high-end net worth accounts.
  • Weekly hotel sites presenting property.
  • Organize sales calls in assigned territories.
  • Maintain the Delphi database with up-to-date information.
  • Create and implement strategic prospecting plan and sales action plan for review.
  • Actively initiate, orchestrate, and participate in projects and meetings as required to achieve sales goals.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Conduct outside sales calls and highly polished presentations to current and prospect clients.
  • Attend hotel and industry related functions and tradeshows.
  • Entertain potential and existing clientele to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Plan and operate hotel “FAMiliarization visits” for selected third-party meeting planner and end-user group clients.
  • Participation in yearly budget and marketing plan.

As Group Sales Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Experience in direct sales and/or account management.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience managing and/or coordinating the sales process for a luxury property.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
