The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel’s sales team, including Sales Managers and Coordinators, and collaborating closely with Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations and other departments to deliver exceptional business results.
As Director of Sales, you will responsible for the following duties:
- Responsible for driving revenue production and market share growth for Mandarin Oriental, Hangzhou.
- Lead the hotel’s sales team, including Sales Managers and Coordinators, and collaborate closely with Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations and other departments to deliver exceptional business results.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, luxury travel agencies, corporate clients, and event planners to position the hotel as the preferred luxury destination in the region.
- Ensure alignment with Mandarin Oriental’s brand standards and commercial objectives while adapting strategies to local market dynamics.
- Analyse sales performance, forecasts, market intelligence, and customer insights to inform decision-making and drive results.
- Lead commercial negotiations and ensure agreements align with the hotel's financial and business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to support long-term business growth.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, client meetings, and other industry forums to strengthen market presence.
- Drive continuous improvement of sales processes, systems, CRM utilisation, and reporting standards to enhance efficiency and conversion performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and commercial best practices.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Director of Commercial Strategy in support of business objectives.
- Prepare and present sales reports, business reviews, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
As Director of Sales, we expect from you:
- A minimum of 7+ years of senior sales experience within luxury hospitality, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and key accounts.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, achieving commercial targets, and improving performance across multiple segments and channels.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
- Knowledge of luxury market trends and global travel needs.
- Strong command of written and spoken English (and local language where applicable).
- Proficiency with hotel commercial systems such as SynXis, IDeaS, Delphi, and related analytical and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and commercial priorities in a fast-changing environment.
