About the Job 

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, within the Ottolenghi Department, the Commis de Rang is responsible for setting tables, bringing dishes from the kitchen to the dining room, and clearing dishes from the dining room to the Stewarding department. The Commis de Rang reports directly to the Restaurant Manager. 

As Commis de Rang, you will be responsible for: 

• Assist the Head Waiters in their daily work 

• Check on customer satisfaction and monitor service throughout the meal 

• Prepare your station according to established standards so that you are ready to welcome customers 

• Coordinate service between the dining room and the kitchen 

• Organise the back of house according to established standards so that you are ready to welcome customers 

As Commis de Rang we expect from you: 

• A passion for service and attention to detail. 

• Previous kitchen experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment preferred. 

• Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow. 

• Good communication skills and a flexible attitude. 

• Fluency in English and French, another European language is a plus. 

• A valid Swiss work permit or EU passport.
