About the Job:


As Commis de Cuisine at Mandarin Oriental Paris, you will carry out all required operational tasks and duties in the kitchen under the guidance of the respective Senior Chefs, with the overall objective to prepare food in a timely manner as per quality and food safety standard

As a Commis de Cuisine you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Prepare ingredients and assist in the preparation of dishes, following recipes and culinary standards.
  • Support the kitchen team during meal service, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and ensuring proper storage of food items.
  • Learn and develop your skills under the guidance of the Head Chef and Sous Chefs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality of food is delivered.
  • Participate in training sessions to expand your culinary knowledge.

As Commis de cuisine, We Expect from You:

  • A passion for cooking and a desire to develop your culinary career in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a fine dining restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly from experienced chefs.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in French (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and food safety practices.
  • Positive attitude and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • culinary school diploma
  • Rigorous and organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm
