CATERING & EVENT SERVICES MANAGER (WEDDINGS & SOCIAL EVENTS)

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Sales & Commerce Department in Kuala Lumpur, we are seeking a passionate and detail-driven Catering & Event Services Manager who thrives on creating meaningful and memorable celebrations.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves weddings and social events and takes pride in being part of life’s most cherished moments. You will play a key role in curating exceptional experiences, working closely with clients and our banquet operations team to bring each vision to life with precision and care.
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Strategy / Director of Catering & Event Services, you will drive the positioning of Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur as the destination of choice for both grand luxury weddings and intimate, bespoke celebrations.

As Catering & Event Services Manager (Weddings & Social Events), you will be responsible for the following duties: 

•    Drive the growth of the weddings and social events segment by promoting Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur as the preferred destination for both luxury and intimate celebrations.
•    Cultivate and deepen meaningful relationships with wedding planners, event organisers, designers, and key industry partners, positioning the hotel as a sought-after venue.
•    Elevate the hotel’s presence within the luxury wedding and social events landscape through distinctive, high-touch initiatives and partnerships.
•    Engage with clients to understand their vision and curate personalised, memorable event experiences.
•    Collaborate closely with banquet operations and internal teams to ensure seamless planning and flawless execution.
•    Mentor and support team members, fostering high performance and a shared passion for exceptional celebrations.
 

As Catering & Event Services Manager (Weddings & Social Events), we expect from you: 

•    Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field
•    Minimum 5 years of experience within the hotel industry, with exposure to weddings and social events
•    Strong understanding of the local weddings and social events market
•    Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales capabilities
