About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Concierge department in Dubai, the Bellman Supervisor is responsible for achieving guest satisfaction by creating a delightful arrival and departure experience, which includes escorting guests to their destination, handling, delivering and storing of guests’ luggage, communication of information and handling guest requests. The Bellman Supervisor is responsible of running the Bell Desk and monitor the Ground Lobby. Bellman Supervisor reports to the Assistant Guest Services Manager.

As a Bellman Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Operate and oversee the Bell Desk, including managing the bell team through hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations.
  • Maintain and audit luggage storage operations using GoConcierge and ensure secure, organized handling of guest belongings.
  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival and departure, removing luggage from rooms post-checkout and initiating contact when needed.
  • Ensure strong knowledge of all hotel services such as spa and dining, and accurately communicate guest needs to relevant departments.
  • Uphold guestroom access security, address guest inquiries effectively, and ensure satisfaction through adherence to MOHG standards.
  • Monitor compliance with FLHSS&E procedures and prepare performance and operational reports related to bell staff and guest services.

As a Bellman Supervisor, we expect from you: 

  • Senior school qualification or equivalent is required, along with at least 3 years of experience in a 5-star hotel environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of specific experience in Door or Bell roles; prior experience in the Middle East region is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with a commitment to exceptional guest service.
  • Must be able to understand guest expectations and deliver high-quality service independently.
  • Requires strong leadership and organizational abilities to effectively manage a team and multitask in a dynamic setting.
  • Physical stamina is necessary, including the ability to lift heavy luggage, stand for long periods, and work flexible shifts.
