About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, The Banquet Supervisor is responsible overseeing banquet and event operations to ensure functions such as weddings, conferences, meetings, and corporate events run smoothly and provide excellent guest service. The Banquet Supervisor reports to the Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager.

As Banqueting Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Representing and supporting the Assistant Banqueting Manager
• Ensuring a smooth and guest-oriented workflow in the Banqueting department in close cooperation with all departments
• Ensuring the functions are well prepared and organized according to the BEO agreed.
• Monitoring the pre and post function arrangement
• Laising and communicating with Banquet sales & Culinary team ensuring full awareness of client needs
• Coordination of daily work in order to ensure a smooth service process according to our quality standards in our banqueting department
• Personal care and advice for our guests
• Ensuring guest satisfaction subject to the highest quality standards and professional handling of guest complaints
• Close cooperation with all departments for a unique hotel experience

As Banqueting Supervisor we expect from you: 

• Completed vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, ideally 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar position
• Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
• Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
• High quality awareness and a sense for trends
• Good computer skills and knowledge of various cash register systems
• Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
• Flexibility and resilience - your position will include night, weekend and holiday shifts
• Very good knowledge of German and English.
• Additional foreign language skills are an advantage
