About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department, the Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team and ensuring the highest standards of service for guests. The Banquet Supervisor reports to the Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager.

 

As Banquet Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Representing and supporting the Assistant Banqueting Manager
  • Ensuring a smooth and guest-oriented workflow in the Banqueting department in close cooperation with all departments
  • Ensuring the functions are well prepared and organized according to the BEO agreed.
  • Monitoring the pre and post function arrangement
  • Laising and communicating with Banquet sales & Culinary team ensuring full awareness of client needs
  • Coordination of daily work in order to ensure a smooth service process according to our quality standards in our banqueting department
  • Personal care and advice for our guests
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction subject to the highest quality standards and professional handling of guest complaints
  • Close cooperation with all departments for a unique hotel experience

 

 

As Banquet Supervisor, we expect from you:

  • Vocational training in the field of restaurant or hotel management. At least 2 years of professional experience with responsibilities.
  • Organisational skills, leadership and the ability to manage a team of staff from a wide range of cultural backgrounds sensitively and with discipline are the basis for this position
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - guests will approach you with both complaints and positive feedback, so you will always be open and approachable
  • High quality awareness, excellent manners and a well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
  • Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
  • Good IT skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility - your position includes weekend and holiday shifts 
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
