As an Assistant Director of Spa & Wellness, you will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Assist and be responsible for re-forecasting of the budget as and when is necessary. 
  • Assist and be responsible for the financial performance of the Spa and related departments.
  • Assist with the developing of spa marketing plan and its activities together with the Director of Marketing Communications and be responsible for the execution of the plan. 
  • Assist and be responsible for the development of marketing strategies for the Spa & Wellness department. 
  • Assist and suggest the yearly event calendar with the Director of Marketing Communications. 
  • Oversee the recruitment, induction, training development, appraisal and discipline of all Spa & Wellness colleagues.
  • Support the achievement of high LQE and LQA scores, ensuring Mandarin Oriental, Taipei consistently meets or exceeds MOHG standards.
  • Ensure the spa maintains compliance with all requirements for 5-Star and 5-Diamond ratings, as directed by the Director of Spa & Wellness. 
  • Prepare and present monthly meeting for all spa colleagues. Minutes need to be provided to Learning and Development and filed in the spa. Ensure that any colleagues, who were excused from the meeting, read the minutes. The following categories should also be discussed during this meeting: marketing, promotions, colleagues’ development, operations and finance.

As an Assistant Director of Spa & Wellness, we expect from you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Wellness, Business Administration, or related 
  • Professional spa or wellness certifications are an advantage
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in luxury spa or wellness operations
  • At least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a 5-star luxury hotel or resort
  • High proficiency in English; Mandarin is highly preferred to support local guest engagement
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization
  • Strong operational management skills, including spa treatment standards, hygiene, and health & safety compliance
