Responsibilities:

1. General:

  • It is part of your role to understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, with all rules, regulations, and other requirements.
  • It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities.
  • You shall take all reasonable steps to safeguard stored information, and not divulge or otherwise transfer any personal data concerning the guests, customers or colleagues, or any confidential information concerning the hotel unless with the appropriate authority.
  • Use of the hotel’s network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel’s view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom, or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal.
  • Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
  • Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy, i.e. to be fully responsible for the content you publish on any social media platform, including your personal site.
  • Mandarin Oriental, Muscat has zero tolerance on all forms of harassment or discrimination, i.e. it is strictly forbidden to discriminate on the basis of gender, disability, including physical or medical condition, race, colour, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, sexual orientation, marital status, or for any other reason.
  • To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.

2. Departmental:

  • Maintain cleanliness of all back of house areas, including areas such as offices, pantries, corridors, and all storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest corridors, as well as all guest room corridors.
  • Collect and deliver fresh and dirty linen and ensure that trolleys are filled effectively.
  • Refill pantries and ensure that enough stock of amenities and linen are placed on each floor.
  • Support laundry and public area operations wherever possible or needed.
  • Stick to regular deep cleaning schedules of all Back of house areas.
  • Respond to guest and management requests timely and professionally.
  • Deliver or collect any requested guest items.
  • Communicate with colleagues and other departments to ensure guest/colleague needs are fulfilled.

3. Customer Service:

  • Be customer focused and make sure that guest wishes are fulfilled accordingly.
  • Handle guest complaints in a professional and polite manner.
  • Take ownership of any guest complaints and communicate them to your supervisor.
  • Follow all MOQA, LQE, LQA, Forbes & FLHSS&E standards at all times.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Senior High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational Diploma in Hospitality related subject is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
  • A minimum of 1 year housekeeping experience in luxury hotels
  • Middle East experience is an advantage.
  • Hotel pre-opening experience is an advantage.
  • Prior experience with HotSOS is an advantage.
  • Clear communication: effective verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
  • Arabic speaker is an advantage.
  • Ability to plan and organize large projects.
  • Perform job with attention to details and the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Physical capabilities to stand for a long period of time.
  • Flexibility to work overnight as required.
