The Director of Engineering leads the development and implementation of the property’s facilities management programme, including all physical structures, equipment and surrounding landscape. 

Strategy and Operations

• Play a key role in the formulation of the Engineering/Facilities strategy and annual budget in determining projected expenses, operating equipment and CAPEX requirements in line with the development of the Annual Business Plan.
• With the training function, plan and action the division’s training and development strategy.  Develop and promote succession planning by identifying key department candidates for career growth. Play a key role in the successful implementation of the department succession planning programmes and cross training initiatives.
• Assign responsibilities, effectively delegate duties to team and to check their performance is to the required standard.
• Create, execute and continually review and refine the resort preventative and reactive maintenance programme.
• Ensure the implementation of systems, processes and equipment in accordance with energy conservation, environmentally friendly guidelines where possible.
• Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the resort, the R.O, desalination, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other operational equipment.
• Responsible for the Engineering budget, managing all costs, reviewing P&L.
• Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive emergency plan that covers fire, hurricane and other hazards
