We are looking for a Senior Groups & Events Manager to join the team at Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern.
The legendary Hotel Palace Luzern first opened in 1906 and is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, in the vicinity of the city center. After a complete renovation, Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern reopened its doors in September 2022. It comprises 136 rooms and suites offering excellent views over the lake and mountains. Three restaurants, one bar together with a variety of meeting facilities, a Spa and a fitness room round up the offer for our guests.
As Senior Groups & Events Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:
Managing group and event inquiries across hotels to ensure smooth and efficient planning
Preparing monthly forecasts for events and banqueting activities to support business objectives
Crafting proposals, negotiating prices, finalizing contracts, and ensuring accurate invoicing
Coordinating guest-oriented event operations and group accommodations with all relevant departments
Identifying and executing upselling opportunities for meetings and conferences to drive revenue
Developing seasonal and creative promotional offers to enhance client engagement
Preparing detailed function sheets and communicating critical details during BEO and group meetings
Achieving departmental financial goals while upholding Mandarin Oriental's quality standard
As Senior Groups & Events Manager we are looking for:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within upscale hospitality
A results-driven mindset and a passion for exceeding expectations
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to handle conflict effectively
Exceptional organizational skills and a quick grasp of complex tasks
An open-minded personality with excellent communication, diligence, and commitment
Professional conduct and outstanding interpersonal skills with guests, customers, and colleagues
Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role
Excellent English language skills; German is desirable but not essential
