Job Purpose
As Sales Manager you will be responsible for leading the development and growth of assigned market segments and key accounts, working closely with the Director of Sales to drive business and achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. Manages activities related to the sales functions with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves personal booking goals, contributes to overall team performance, and supports the implementation and execution of sales strategies, account plans and commercial initiatives.
As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
It is part of your role to understand and disseminate/communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to the colleagues.

Responsibilities
Develop, manage and grow Travel Agent and Tour Operator accounts in the UK and focus on Consortia in the Americas, in line with the hotel's commercial strategy.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key local DMCs for the assigned markets.
Implement and execute sales objectives and action plans to meet and exceed targets.
Ensure all plans and activities are aligned to achieve the overall commercial strategy.
Review direct competition and maintain complete market awareness.
Constantly monitor market trends, competitor activities, threats and opportunities.
Understand the broader market landscape, including economic trends, supply and demand, and competitor strengths and weaknesses, and sell effectively against them.
Analyse account production and segment performance, identifying opportunities and implementing strategies to maximise revenue and mitigate potential shortfalls.
Generate, manage and grow accounts and assigned segments through proactive sales activities.
Service customers to drive share of wallet and ensure long-term loyalty.
Understand customers' business needs and objectives to deliver tailored business solutions.
Ensure all selling strategies are followed during negotiations and maximise upselling opportunities.
Ensure account requests and inquiries are handled within company time standards.
Maintain accurate account files and databases and ensure all account information is updated in accordance with MOHG standards.
Update all sales activities, account actions and client information in the system in adherence with MOHG standards.
Conduct face-to-face sales calls, telephone calls, site inspections and client entertainment.
Participate in client entertainment and joint sales calls with the team as required.
MObilize at every opportunity to cross-sell the brand worldwide.
Plan and execute fam trips on a yearly basis, with the support of competent RSO.
Provide account coverage and support for colleagues when required by the Director of Sales.
Support customer loyalty and uphold property and brand standards by delivering service excellence throughout the customer journey.
Build strong relationships with customers, guests and colleagues to understand their needs and serve them effectively.
Set a positive example for the Sales, Marketing, Reservations and Conference & Events teams.
Handle guest complaints and disputes professionally and effectively.
Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues across all departments.
Communicate effectively with key operational teams, especially Reservations, Front Office, Marketing, Food & Beverage and Conference & Events.
Attend weekly and monthly departmental meetings and prepare account performance updates and market feedback.
Attend major hotel and city events as requested by the Director of Sales.
Utilize all available on-the-job training tools for colleague development.
Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
Carry out additional duties assigned by management related to hotel operations.

Support on-the-job training initiatives and contribute to the development of colleagues within the department.

Use of the hotel's network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel's view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal.
Support and adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy, being fully responsible for the content published on any social media platform, including personal accounts.

As a Sales Manager, we expect from you:
Senior school qualification.
Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management or Business Management.
Minimum two years' experience in a Sales Manager or senior sales role within a luxury or five-star hotel environment, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets.
Experience representing the hotel at trade shows, sales missions and industry events.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies and account plans.
Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and hotel sales systems.
Ability to analyse business performance and identify revenue opportunities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
Positive attitude with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Ability to lead by example and support the development of colleagues.
Flexibility to respond to a variety of business needs.
