Recreation Supervisor

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Canouan / within the Spa & Wellness Department in Canouan, the Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the recreation department, ensuring a safe, engaging, and memorable guest experience.  This role includes planning, coordinating, and supervising recreational activities, managing a team of recreation colleagues, and ensuring all equipment, facilities, and activities meet the highest safety and quality standards.   The Recreation Supervisor reports to the Recreation Manager.

As Recreation Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Plan, organize, and supervise a variety of recreational activities and programs for guests (e.g., beach games, water sports, cultural activities, wellness events).
  • Ensure all recreation areas (beach, pool, activity centers) are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Monitor guest participation and adjust programs to ensure maximum engagement and satisfaction.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns professionally and promptly.

 

 

Team Management

  • Supervise, train, and schedule recreation colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment, promoting teamwork and service excellence.
  • Ensure colleagues follow all safety protocols, SOPs, and brand standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct daily inspections of recreation areas, equipment, and facilities.
  • Enforce health, safety, and security standards always.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, equipment usage, and incident reports.
  • Prepare weekly schedules, activity calendars, and monthly reports.
  • Monitor inventory and request supplies/equipment as needed.

As Recreation Supervisor we expect from you:

·  Minimum 2 years of experience in recreation, hospitality, or a related field, with at  least 1 year in a supervisory role.

·  Strong leadership and organizational skills.

·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·  CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

·  Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

·  Energetic, guest-focused, and passionate about delivering exceptional service.
