About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou within the Marketing department, the PR Manager is responsible to oversee public relations and communications strategy, including media and influencer relations, partnerships, events, and activations. The role is responsible to drive storytelling, copywriting, and content development (press releases, press kits, and brand messaging), manage agencies, and ensure consistency in tone of voice and brand image across all external communications. PR Manager reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

As PR Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Develop and execute an integrated PR and communications strategy aligned with business objectives and brand positioning, in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Director, including a year-round activity calendar across key markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and key opinion leaders, while managing media inquiries, press trips, interviews, PR shoots, and brand-aligned partnerships.
  • Lead community outreach and CSR initiatives, represent the hotel at industry events and social functions, and oversee the planning and execution of the hotel’s event strategy.
  • Create and manage high-quality PR content (press releases, kits, bios, invitations) and announcements, ensuring consistency in messaging, storytelling, tone of voice, and brand image across all channels.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report PR performance, including post-project evaluations, providing insights and recommendations to optimize future campaigns and activities.
  • Manage PR agencies and corporate communications alignment, while leading, developing, and supporting team members to ensure high performance and collaboration.

As PR Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required
