Scope of Position
The Paymaster is responsible for maintaining the Hotel’s payroll system to ensure timely payments of salaries and wages according to the Company’s policies & procedures; to ensure absolute confidentiality in regard to all payroll related matters and to be ethically compliant. Also, to assist the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance in general administration of Finance related matters.
Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including the calculation of wages, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure timely and accurate payment to all colleagues.
Keep track of overtime forms from every department and ensure that the forms are issued and authorized by respective Department Head and Senior Management.
Follow up with People and Culture in regards to attendance records and ensure that absences have been updated correctly into the HRIS (Time & Attendance module) before the monthly payroll cut-off date.
Collect and verify basic payroll information from approved payroll documents such as personnel action form, employment contract, payroll allowances, leave application form and deduction forms.
Coordinate with People and Culture department on matter concerning colleagues’ basic pay, end of service gratuity, vacation, allowances, and any changes affecting payroll.
Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies from Colleagues in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
Maintain confidential and accurate payroll records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and security.
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management and/or Accounting
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity as Paymaster in a luxury hotel and with at least 1-year experience in other finance functions; UAE experience preferred
Excellent knowledge of Payroll Systems and familiarity with Accounting System
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Exceptional accuracy in handling payroll data and financial information. Must have analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to address concerns and collaborate with various departments.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
