About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai within the Food & Beverage Culinary Department. The Pastry Sous Chef reports to Executive Pastry Chef.

As Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for assisting the Executive Pastry Chef with the administration and smooth running of the Kitchen. Primarily responsible for organizing work and follow up / tracing pending projects.

As Pastry Sous Chef, we expect from you:

  • Globally recognized culinary qualification.

  • Outgoing, friendly, Disciplined, Mature, Friendly, Excellent organiser, Dedicated, Good team leader, Open-Minded, Analytical

  • Minimum high school, tourism school or culinary school certification

  • Minimum of 5-7 years cooking experience in restaurant and/or 4-5 star hotel kitchen (or relevant work experience)

  • Minimum of 2 years in supervision experience

  • Ableto physical work

  • Good English skills

  • Able to work flexible schedule

  • Positive creative

  • Self-motivated and team player

  • Ability in fast-paced environment

  • Able to lead a team of young chefs
