About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona within the Front Office Department, the Night Receptionist is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient overnight operation of the Front Desk, delivering exceptional guest experiences at all times. The role reports to the Night Supervisor.

As Night Receptionist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a warm welcome and escorting guests to their rooms when required
  • Delivering all Mandarin Oriental Legendary Quality Experiences (LQE) standards at arrival, departure and throughout the guest journey
  • Handling check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and courteously
  • Managing the cash drawer in accordance with MOHG Controller’s procedures
  • Performing all overnight Front Desk duties as per departmental standards
  • Acting as PBX Operator when required
  • Handling incoming reservation calls and walk-in reservations
  • Communicating hotel services and features tailored to guests’ needs
  • Coordinating guest requests with Concierge, Housekeeping, Reservations and Room Service
  • Managing guest correspondence (messages, mail, facsimile, etc.)
  • Addressing guest preferences recorded in profiles to personalize service
  • Supporting guests in the lobby and ensuring a high level of service at all times
  • Maintaining clear communication with the Night Supervisor and Accounts Department
  • Assisting with basic accounting knowledge to support guest and management requests
  • Demonstrating teamwork and supporting colleagues when needed
  • Staying updated with hotel procedures through briefings and internal communications
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by management

As Night Receptionist, we expect from you:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of responsibility and reliability
  • Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and multicultural awareness
  • Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel (preferred)
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
