About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Yù & Mì Chinese Bar and Restaurant in Dubai, the Mixologist is responsible for creating and serving exceptional beverages while ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining bar standards, supporting team training, and contributing to a seamless and memorable bar experience. The Mixologist reports to Head Mixologist.

As a Mixologist, you will be responsible for the following duties:

·       Prepare and serve creative cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers, and wines, ensuring proper garnishing, presentation, and explanation to guests.

·       Support the Head Mixologist and Bar Manager in training colleagues, updating standards, and creating new drinks for menus and promotions.

·       Interact with guests to recommend suitable beverages, handle complaints professionally, and create memorable “WOW” moments to enhance guest satisfaction.

·       Maintain bar setup, mise en place, freshness of ingredients, stock levels, labeling, inventory, and ensure cleanliness and proper storage at all times.

·       Carry out cashiering duties when required, monitor fridge temperatures, and adhere to First In–First Out (FIFO) and other operational standards.

·       Foster teamwork and communication with colleagues and superiors, proactively supporting operations to deliver Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs).

As a Mixologist, we expect from you: 

·       High School qualification required, with Degree or Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.

·       Minimum 2 years as Mixologist in a luxury hotel/resort; 3 years as Senior Bartender/Mixologist in a high-end bar preferred.

·       Strong knowledge of classic and innovative beverages, bar service procedures, spirits, and cigars, with ability to suggest and prepare drinks.

·       Ability to understand guest needs, deliver superior service, and manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining operational excellence.

·       Familiarity with POS and cashiering procedures, along with basic MS Office skills, is preferred.

·       Clear verbal and written communication in English required; Russian or other languages preferred, with ability to communicate effectively with guests, peers, and superiors.
