Scope of Position

Reporting to the Learning & Development Director and working closely with other members of the People & Culture team. L&D Executive is responsible for, but not limited to, facilitate all new hire training, coordinate and support the development and delivery of effective learning and development programmes and initiatives, support quality assurance activities, uphold and promote our company’s values and standards. You will be working closely with department trainers and support the People & Culture team’s initiatives to elevate and enhance the colleague experience.    

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Communicating and maintaining Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Learning & Development standards
  • Supporting all efforts to enliven our Company’s Mission, Guiding Principles and Legendary Quality Experiences throughout the hotel
  • Assist with development, implementation and review of the hotel L&D plan and activities in line with business priorities  
  • Be an L&D PR expert to promote learning culture and exciting development opportunities
  • Co-ordinate, execute and follow up on all training activities within the hotel
  • Facilitate guest recognition training to support consistent guest service delivery across the hotel
  • Maintain an ongoing L&D calendar for the hotel and ensure learning resources and opportunities are maximised. Proactively collect training nominations for all training programmes in accordance to related audience. Send joining instructions for L&D programmes in a timely manner
  • Maximising learning by providing a creative, fun and exciting environment in delivering training such as Move In orientation, product knowledge and other new hire relevant programmes
  • Assist in facilitation of continuous customer service training as outlined by LQEs, MOQA, Forbes, etc. on a needful basis
  • Perform administrative tasks to ensure proper maintenance of records, reports, training material and learning resources
  • Maintain the L&D notice board / screen up to date
  • Maintaining training expenses to meet the hotel’s needs while remaining within budget guidelines
  • Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of the office and the hotel Training Room
  • Contribute and actively participate in monthly Department Trainers meeting, take minutes and ensure prompt distribution
  • Provide support and development of departmental trainers as required
  • Develop, coordinate or deliver wider learning activities to imparting product knowledge and service standards across the hotel 
  • Coordinate, conduct, or facilitate product knowledge tests and in-house audits to ensure standards are met
  • Champion all colleague recognition initiatives
  • Taking ownership to perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Learning & Development and continuously support HR initiatives.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, Dubai and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

 

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Ideally 3 years’ experience in of Learning & Development in Luxury Hospitality Industry.
  • Outstanding communication skills verbal & written. English Language proficiency is a must.
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and collaborative
  • Excellent program design, presentation and delivery skills
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; must be able to verbally convey detailed instructions to employees or guests.
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility.
  • Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, and mentor colleagues to meet desired ends.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relations with colleagues and maintain colleague and guest confidentiality at all times.
  • A confident & dynamic public speaker, able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Enthusiastic and positive personality with ability to build trusting relationships with others.
  • Creative, effective team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, energy and determination.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of: LMS,Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint & Publisher.
  • Proven organizational skills, works well on their own, able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
