The Kitchen & Laundry Technician operates, trouble-shoot, repair and carry out preventive maintenance of kitchen, refrigeration system & laundry equipment to achieve optimum operating efficiency of the equipment at all time.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain (includes but not limited to full servicing, repairing, installing and maintaining in good working condition) all the equipment utilized in the hotel kitchen
Checks and performs preventive maintenance and general repair on kitchen and laundry equipment and consequently laundry plumbing and electrical systems
Minimize by all means kitchen and laundry equipment to breakdown and to be operational at all times
Follow up on daily records, maintenance schedules and assisting the superior on implementing of optimum staff planning and control
Assure implementation of policies, standards and procedure for energy conservation and control, operation and control of plant and equipment, inspection and staff supervision
Analyses and monitors energy costs and expenditures for the Department
Trouble-shooting, repair and preventive maintenance of: Laundry machines such as washes extractor, tumblers, flat work ironer, dry cleaning machines, utility press, form finisher, vacuum machine, marker etc.; Kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as cooking range, toaster, juicer, ice maker, freezers, fridge, blender, oven, food warmer, brewers, dish washing machine, mixer etc.
Systematically check, oiling & lubricating of laundry & kitchen equipment, changing of belts, tighten of screws, nuts and bolts if necessary to ensure that all machines are in good working order
Daily checking & recording of cooking gas consumption & order when stock level runs low
Maintain all lighting in laundry & kitchen area including lighting at cold rooms, fridge etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years working experience in Engineering Department in a hotel
Knowledge of Engineering Operations in the Hotel
Previous experience in operation and maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical equipment in Commercial Kitchen/Laundry
Ability to trouble shoot and maintain commercial Kitchen/Laundry equipment and related installations in the Hotel
High school diploma or GED and/or an associate's degree supplemented by specialized training in the electrical trades
