About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / within the Housekeeping Department in Tokyo, the Houseperson is responsible for Special cleaning in guest room, Corridor cleaning on guest room floor, Linen preparation at Housekeeping pantry and Housekeeping operation help.

The Houseperson reports to the Floor Supervisor.

As Houseperson, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Cover all floors assigned to and ensures that the hotel cleanliness standards are maintained in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain the general upkeep of assigned section of guest floors.
  • Recognize and report all missing, damaged or sub-standard furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • In assigned guest floors is responsible for all furniture and equipment moving, drapes up and down, delivery of any guest requests
  • Perform emesis cleaning when specific occasion happened (Ex, emesis and feces.)
  • Distribute daily linens and adjust them.
  • Remake the bed from turndown to regular setting
  • Vacuum guest corridors and wipe walls and elevator areas in daily bases.
  • Polish silver and keep it shine and clean as scheduled
  • Bed rotation in quarterly bases.
  • Remove all used linen on cart to basement.
  • Conduct room cleaning followed by Occupancy.
  • Follow up on commitments on a timely manner.
  • Inform the coordinator of any unusual events as soon as possible.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as request by the department head from time to time.
