Housekeeping Floor Supervisor

As Housekeeping Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Responsible to inspect and release guestrooms after being cleaned by the room attendant according to the hotel LQE, MOQA, PILLAR standards.
  • Responsible to inspect guestrooms ensuring they are being cleaned according to the ECOLAB chemical training procedure with correct tools provided by the hotel.
  • Responsible for two-floor’s guestrooms inspection including vacant, occupied and arrival rooms per shift. Number of guestrooms inspected could vary depending on day’s business activities but proportion must be justified, and must be agreed upon the discretion of the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Accountable for the cleanliness and functionality of the guestrooms ensuring all room products, amenities, furniture and fixture are in good working condition before releasing to guest to check in.
  • Ensure guest requests for room servicing are provided according to hotel standard’s timeline.
  • Ensure guestrooms are cleaned and ready for guest arrival.
  • Responsible to inspect the cleanliness of the guest floor hallway carpet, skirting boards, furniture and fixture.
  • Responsible to inspect the cleanliness of service areas including floor pantry, staff lift landing and staff toilet on the floor. The service areas should be cleaned and tidy at the end of each shift, ensure no lost properties are left in the pantry.
  • Responsible to inspect floor pantry’s chemical room is maintained cleaned and chemical dispensers are filled up to correct level.
  • Responsible to inspect the floor pantry’s ice machine and dish washing machine, ensuring they are being cleaned, sanitized and maintained on daily basis.
  • Responsible to inspect the guestroom amenities (flowers and fruits) are provided correctly according to the VIP code and their freshness.
  • Ensure floor pantry’s computer is used with responsible and only use for hotel business. Always log off when not in use.
  • Use and maintain all hotel equipment in good working condition.
  • Report guestrooms, guest floor corridor and service areas’ maintenance issue to Engineering via Alice.
  • Carry out periodically vacant room inspection to identify and plan deep cleaning and detailed maintenance.
  • Report any loss or damage linen, furniture, fixture and equipment to Director of Housekeeping immediately.
  • Ensure department’s master keys are kept secure at all time, and sign in at the beginning of shift and sign out at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for the hotel’s duty phone during work and ensure it is used for work purpose only.
  • Proactively offer assistance to guests on timely manner.
  • Respond and deliver guest request whenever required according to hotel standards.
  • Work closely with Front Office Team to ensure correct room status at all time.
  • Supervise turndown service quality according to hotel’s LQE, MOQA, PILLAR standards.
  • Prepare to meet guest and anticipate guest requests and needs.
  • Prepare to deal with guest complaint regarding room cleanliness, amenities and setup.
  • Maintain high level of hotel product and service knowledge to be able to explain and sell services and facilities to guests.
  • Prepare to move beddings, furniture, rollaway bed and baby cot during emergency situation.
  • Adhere to hotel’s security and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Prepare to act as department’s emergency response team when assigned to the task.
  • Carry out regular room inspection checklist to monitor room attendant’s performance.
  • Accountable for the cleaning quality of the room attendants. Room attendant with below quality standard will be called upon by the Floor Supervisor to rectify the issues immediately.
  • Report to Director of Housekeeping for room attendant with below quality performances.
  • Identify the training needs for the room attendants and assist departmental trainers with the training plan.
  • Assist Director of Housekeeping in carry out career progression chat and discussion with room attendants.
  • Provide regular one to one feedback session with room attendants.
  • Responsible to ensure task of the week cleaning and special cleaning project are carried out a timely manner by room attendants and completed within time frame.
  • Responsible for the conduct of the room attendants and houseman on the guest floors.
  • Adhere to additional tasks assigned by Director of Housekeeping and Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
  • Take over the Housekeeping Office Coordinator’s duty in their absence.
  • Assist with the preparation of Housekeeping colleague’s duty roster including Housekeeping’s Floor Supervisors, Room Attendants, Houseman, Midnight Runner, Office Coordinator, and Minibar Attendant’s. Duty rosters must be issued at least 5 days before the current roster ends.
  • Clean guestrooms during emergency situation.

As Housekeeping Floor Supervisor, we expect from you: 

  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel environment, including 2 years in Housekeeping Division
  • Local national is preferred
