About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Food and Beverage Department in Dubai, the Head Waiter/ess is responsible to deliver a superior dining experience. The role will oversee a designated section of our restaurant, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and that every detail of their dining experience meets our high standards of luxury and service. Head Waiter/ess reports to F&B Supervisor.

As a Head Waiter/ess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Manage a section of the restaurant and provide attentive, professional breakfast service.
• Anticipate guest needs, offer detailed menu knowledge, and make personalized recommendations.
• Communicate guest preferences or allergies to the kitchen and management for seamless service.
• Operate the POS system efficiently and follow billing and cashiering procedures accurately.
• Upsell products and ensure all dishes meet hotel presentation and quality standards.
• Create memorable “WOW” moments for guests and uphold MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs).

As a Head Waiter/ess, we expect from you: 

• High school qualification required; a degree or diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Senior Waiter or Chef de Rang; luxury hotel or high-volume restaurant experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS and cashiering procedures is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office, is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
