The Head Sommelier will be responsible for:

• Report to Director of F&B.
• Fully responsible for the smooth operation of wine service of all outlets within the hotel.
• Establish and maintain a competitive and relevant wine program in line with the culinary directions of the different restaurants/outlets.
• Persistently maintain an exceptional high level of wine service and correct the unfulfilled elements if necessary.
• Monitor the stock of wines by introducing a proper wine management system, whilst updating wine lists with correct spelling, vintages & prices.
• Manage & create a culture of sustainability.
• Provide professional development and training to the teams and lead the teams to achieve departmental goals and exceeding guests satisfaction.
• Responsible for the procurement from negociant of wines for the hotels wine programs.
• Support the Director of F&B with the marketing and promotion for the Restaurants and taking up special wine related projects.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Head Sommelier/Sommelier in Fine Dining Restaurants.
• Experience in international 5 star luxury hotels is considered an advantage.
• Extensive wine & beverage knowledge is required.
• Creative and hands on.
• Well organized and structured.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, open mind of different culture, friendly, approachable, sociable with strong sense of empathy.
• Motivational with enthusiastic character with excellent listening skills.
• Acquire good training and coaching skills.
• Good command in French/English, knowledge in other languages is an advantage.
