About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Vienna within the Restaurant Team in Vienna, the F&B Supervisor is responsible for various duties. The Demi Chef de Rang reports to the Assistant restaurant manager and restaurant manager.
As F&B Supervisor you will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Leading your own team and ensuring smooth, guest-oriented workflows in the restaurant in close collaboration with all hotel departments.
• Monitoring and coordinating the daily operations in the restaurant.
• Supporting the Restaurant Manager in the implementation of checklists and standards.
• Training your team on operational standards and guidelines of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
• Ensuring the completion of mise en place, including cleaning tasks.
• Maintaining, repairing, and properly using equipment, devices, and utensils.
• Operating the POS system to process orders.
• Meeting guest needs through excellent service and friendly, efficient work practices.
• Actively upselling products and services to increase revenue.
• Handling MOHG gift cards and cashless payment methods.
• Performing billing tasks according to hotel standards and cash handling procedures.
• Presenting dishes according to hotel standards.
• Adhering to schedules for additional tasks and ensuring timely completion of all assignments.
• Assisting with daily cash handling procedures and managing inventory.
• Ensuring up-to-date product knowledge.
• Informing management and kitchen about special guest requests or allergies.
• Assisting in other restaurants as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
• Training and onboarding new employees.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
As F&B Supervisor we are looking for:
• Education in restaurant or hotel management: At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Customer orientation: Recognizing and exceeding guest needs.
• Excellent product and sales knowledge.
• Teamwork: Actively supporting colleagues and fostering a harmonious work atmosphere
• Commitment, resilience, and flexibility: Responsible and motivated work ethic. Calm and composed, even in stressful situations, including weekend and holiday shifts.
• Reliability: Performing tasks with integrity and reliability.
• Technical competence: Proficient use of POS systems and other technologies. Knowledge of Infrasys POS system and SevenRooms booking system is desirable.
• Organizational talent and leadership: Ability to lead a diverse team with empathy and discipline, using clear and effective communication with colleagues, superiors, and guests.
• Friendliness: Positive demeanor with attentive listening and observing guests' body language to understand their needs and expectations, ensuring each guest is delighted and satisfied
• WOW moments: Proactively creating special experiences for guests.
• Guest satisfaction: Ensuring excellent service according to Mandarin Oriental standards, including Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs), MOHG pillars, and MOQA service standards.
• Appearance: Well-groomed appearance at the start of each shift, including hygiene and maintenance of the uniform provided by the hotel.
• Very good German and English skills: Additional foreign language skills are a plus.
Our commitment to you:
The collective minimum gross monthly salary for this position is €2.178,00. There is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on qualifications and work experience.
