About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Finance Intern will support the Finance Department in daily operations, reporting, and compliance. This role provides hands-on exposure to hotel finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost control, and financial analysis. The Finance Intern reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and works closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with MOHG’s standards.
As Finance Intern, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Finance Operations
- Assist in processing invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Support accounts receivable functions, including billing and collections.
- Help maintain accurate records of financial transactions in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Reporting & Analysis
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Assist in compiling data for budget tracking and variance analysis.
- Help monitor departmental expenses and provide insights to improve cost efficiency.
- Contribute to internal audits and compliance checks.
Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with operational departments (F&B, Rooms, Spa) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Liaise with suppliers and external partners regarding billing and payment matters.
- Provide administrative support for finance-related documentation and filing.
Administrative Duties
- Assist in maintaining budget trackers and financial databases.
- Support the preparation of purchase requests and payment authorizations.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the department head.
As Finance Intern, we expect from you:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong interest in finance and accounting within the hospitality industry.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial software is an advantage.
- Good command of English.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with numbers accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain confidentiality.
