About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, within the Front Office Department, the Doorman is responsible for creating a warm first and last impression by welcoming guests, assisting with arrivals and departures, and ensuring a smooth and elegant traffic flow at the hotel entrance. The Doorman reports to the Bell Captain.

As a Doorman, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Initiate contact with guests entering and departing the hotel by opening and closing the main hotel door.
• Perform all Mandarin Oriental standards in accordance with the Legendary Quality Experience.
• Assist guests with luggage, including loading luggage onto carts for Bell Person delivery, baggage checks and proper tagging.
• Assist guests with opening and closing car doors within thirty seconds of arrival.
• Be responsible for the flow of street traffic outside the hotel, ensuring guest safety and smooth vehicle movement.
• Assist guests with umbrellas during rainy weather.
• Raise and lower the hotel flags according to standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the driveway and main entrance.
• Handle the delivery and storage of guest items and baggage.
• Be familiar with all room products and hotel services, including IT&T equipment.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by Hotel Management.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel.
• Fluent English (additional languages are an advantage).
