We are looking for a Director of Marketing Communications to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, set to open in Spring 2025.
Surrounded by natural beauty, the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca spreads over 3 hectares of landscaped cliff tops and gardens cascading down to the sea, where it offers unique access to two coves surrounded by crystalline waters. The property is ideally located within Calvià, one of the most exclusive municipalities of the island, and close to key attractions such as the Portals port, the historical landmarks of the capital Palma de Mallorca, and the international airport.
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca will feature 131 guestrooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows located just a few steps from the waterfront. The spacious accommodation will provide full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces or balconies, some of which offer private panoramic plunge pools. A comprehensive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the Group’s signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments, with a focus on local nature-inspired programmes. The spa includes an indoor swimming pool, while three outdoor pools are located across the resort. Guests will also have access to a wide range of water-sports as well as a comprehensive Children’s Club.
The Director of Marketing Communications will be responsible for the following duties:
Formulate and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to elevate the brand and drive business growth in collaboration with the General Manager and the Director of Marketing and Commerce.
Oversee the creation and management of the brand identity for the hotel and all its outlets.
Collaborate with the global digital marketing team to identify and implement paid social media and performance campaigns, targeting both global hotel guests and local audiences.
Collaborate with the global digital and Brand teams to develop the hotel's website, ensuring the content is up-to-date and on-brand.
Plan all stages from briefing to execution of the hotel's annual advertising plan; coordinating with MOHG's advertising department on all matters related to creative and media planning.
Develop and implement a PR strategy for the hotel to ensure positioning as one of the best hotels in the destination across local, national, and international media, highlighting the hotel's key USPs and emphasising MOHG's competitive advantages.
Develop, manage, and oversee the hotel's social media strategy.
Plan, organise, and oversee all photo and video sessions for the hotel to ensure the right materials are available for media, digital use, and promotional materials, including key advertising content, website and press assets.
Provide local expertise on the hotel's seasonality, upcoming events, local attractions, and competitors’ activities to refine marketing strategies.
Cultivate relationships with media, influencers and industry partners to boost brand visibility and reputation.
Expertly handle public relations challenges, safeguarding the brand’s reputation and addressing negative perceptions.
Lead and mentor a team of marketing and communications professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and measuring the ROI of initiatives.
What are we looking for?
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar position within luxury hospitality, luxury retail, or a marketing environment is required, with a proven track record of crafting and executing high-impact marketing campaigns and enhancing brand prestige.
An advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields is advantageous, as are specialized certifications in luxury brand management or digital marketing.
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in English and Spanish.
