About the job

Based at the Emirates palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Marketing Department, the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for strategically planning, developing, implementing, and budgeting the Hotel's annual marketing and communications initiatives. The role oversees all aspects of the marketing and communications plan, including media relations, digital marketing, consumer relationship management, social media, advertising, brand identity and governance, as well as all other marketing activities for the Hotel, to ensure fully integrated campaigns are launched in alignment with the Hotel’s commercial objectives. The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy.

As Director of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Strategic Oversight: Formulate and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to elevate the brand and drive business growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of marketing and communications professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and measuring the ROI of initiatives.
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with media, influencers, and industry partners to boost brand visibility and reputation.
  • Customer Insight: Leverage market research and guest data to refine marketing strategies and enhance engagement.
  • Crisis Management: Expertly handle public relations challenges, safeguarding the brand’s reputation and addressing negative perceptions.

 As Director of Marketing & Communications, we expect from you: 

  • Seasoned Professional: 7-10 years of progressive Marketing & Communications leadership experience at the unit or cluster level with first tier luxury hotel groups.
  • Proven Achievements: Demonstrated success in crafting and executing high-impact marketing campaigns and elevating brand prestige in the luxury market.
  • Educational Qualifications: An advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields is advantageous, as are specialized certifications in luxury brand management or digital marketing.

  • Digital Savvy: Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, CRM systems, and data analytics.
  • Business Acumen: Proficient in overseeing various operational aspects within a multifaceted resort complex.
